Core experience

From wet clothes to a camp you can live in

Island Life keeps the rhythm simple: survive first, then make life a little easier. Everything you pick up has somewhere to go, and every part of the camp you finish makes the water a little easier to cross.

Wash ashore

You start with wet clothes and an unfamiliar coastline. Read the land first, then decide where the first piece of wood comes from.

Gather and collect

Walk the tideline for shells, head into the trees for wood, and move the materials scattered around the island into your pack.

Fish and cook

Cast from the shore and turn what you catch into a meal that keeps you going; fish and ingredients are tracked in your pack.

Trade and build

Make small trades with the islanders for the materials you are missing, and raise the tent, the stove and the supply spot step by step.

Sail with a live chart

Once the boat is ready, the chart shows your position as you move, so you can see which island you are closest to.

The Sacred Tree story

Follow what the islanders say, collect the clues, and let the story open up as you reach new places.

Keep a companion

Someone on the island will stay with you and keep the camp company while you are out on the water.

Polaroid snapshots

When a view is worth keeping, take a polaroid and save it to your photo library to look back on later.

Who it is for

For an evening when nobody is rushing you

You want a game that does not hurry you

No online matches and no limited-time events. You can fish for a while, or spend the whole evening fixing up the camp.

You like choosing your own order

Cut wood first or cast the line first, either works. The pack, the camp and the boat move forward on your terms.

You want a story you can finish

The Sacred Tree clues are spread across the archipelago, and the story connects as you follow what the islanders say.

You want a few of your own screenshots

A polaroid writes the moment straight into your photo library, so sharing it does not need a separate screen recording.

A short session on the commute or before bed

A single-player game stops whenever you do, and progress is saved on the device for next time.

You do not want accounts or ads

No account, no advertising, no in-app purchase, and no access to contacts, location or the contents of your photo library.

Boundaries

What it does, and what it does not do

Single-player and offline

The game runs entirely on the device. There is no multiplayer, no server and no cloud save, so a new device or a reinstall will not bring an old save back.

Landscape only

Both iPhone and iPad use a landscape layout, and iOS/iPadOS 26.5 or later is required.

Photo access is add-only

Photos are written only when you choose to save a polaroid. The game does not read your library, and it does not use the camera, microphone, location, contacts or notifications.

The guide is not an outside AI service

When the system provides it, the guide may use Apple's on-device language model and runs on the device only, so no prompt is sent to a server. When it is unavailable, the game uses scripted hints.

Common questions

Connection, permissions and saves

Do I need a connection?

No. Island Life is a single-player game. Saves, settings and progress stay on your device, with no account and no server.

Does it collect my data?

No. The current version has no analytics, advertising, tracking or third-party SDK, and it does not use an advertising identifier.

Why does it ask for photo access?

Only when you choose to save a polaroid, and only to add that one image to your photo library. The permission is add-only; the game does not read, edit or delete your photos.

Which devices are supported?

iPhone and iPad, played in landscape, with iOS/iPadOS 26.5 or later.

How do I delete a save?

Delete the save from Settings inside the game, or delete the app to remove all local data. There is no server-side copy.

Is the in-game guide AI?

When the system provides it, the guide may use Apple's on-device language model and runs on the device only. When it is unavailable the game falls back to scripted hints.

Official information and support
