Records, privacy, and boundaries
Do I need to create a pet profile first?
No. The first tap can start and save the Episode before you assign a pet; the profile can be added later.
Will a failed recording lose the timer?
No. Camera and microphone are optional. Denial, interruption, low storage, or a save failure must leave the timed record and observation actions usable.
Does PetEpisode diagnose a pet?
No. It records facts the owner directly saw or heard. It does not identify a type, judge severity, predict, or provide treatment or first-aid advice.
Is the record uploaded?
The current release is local-first: no account, cloud sync, third-party analytics, advertising, or external AI is required. You choose when to export or share.
How do I delete a record?
Use Settings to delete one record or all local data. Related observations, video, thumbnails, temporary reports, and indexes are cleaned up through the same cascade.
Does the app rewrite a vet emergency card?
No. A card you enter is shown as supplied and labeled with its source; the app does not explain, summarize, or rewrite it.
