Common questions

How do I add an observing place if I do not want to share location?

Skip the location step and add the place manually. A saved place keeps its name, coordinates, and time zone on your device; if you do choose "Current Location", the app takes one foreground fix and asks Apple's geocoding service for the place name.

Why does the app say cloud cover is unavailable?

Weather comes from Apple WeatherKit. If the device is offline, WeatherKit has no reading for that place, or the capability is unavailable, the app marks cloud cover as unavailable and keeps the local astronomy results. If you turn on the demo curve, an illustrative curve appears and is labelled as demo data.

Why does the verdict differ from another weather app?

The verdict is a stargazing-weighted summary of cloud cover, moonlight, astronomical twilight, and galactic-core height for your selected place, not a general weather forecast. Check the timeline and the evidence rows to see which factor drives the result.

My reminder did not arrive.

Check the notification permission, Focus or Do Not Disturb, Low Power Mode, and whether the reminder was scheduled for a window that has already passed. Reminders are scheduled locally by iOS, so delivery can be delayed or suppressed by the system.

The compass direction looks wrong.

Move away from magnets, speakers, metal surfaces, and magnetic phone mounts, keep the phone reasonably flat, and recalibrate by moving it in a figure-eight. Heading is approximate and is read only while the compass screen is open.

The widget or watch summary is out of date.

Open the app so it can recalculate and refresh the shared summary. The shared snapshot is a small summary — verdict, window start, place name, and time zone, without coordinates — and it has a limited validity window.

How do I delete my data?

Delete a single place in Places, or use "Reset all data" in Settings to clear places, settings, cache, and scheduled notifications together. Because nothing is uploaded, there is no developer-side copy to delete.

When contacting support

Include the device model, iOS version, app version and build, the place type (manual or current location), your permission state, and the exact visible message or steps that reproduce the issue. Screenshots of the app screen are usually more useful than photos of the outdoors.

跳过定位步骤，手动添加地点即可。保存的地点在你的设备上保留名称、坐标与时区；如果你选择“当前位置”，App 会在前台获取一次定位，并向 Apple 地理编码服务查询地名。

为什么显示云量暂无？

天气来自 Apple WeatherKit。如果设备离线、WeatherKit 对该地点没有读数，或能力不可用，App 会把云量标记为暂无，并保留本机计算的天文结果。如果你开启演示曲线，界面会显示一条示意曲线并标注为演示数据。

为什么裁决和其他天气应用不一样？

裁决是针对你所选地点的观星加权结论，综合云量、月光、天文暮光和银河核心高度，而不是通用天气预报。可以查看时间轴和依据行，了解是哪一个因素决定了结果。

提醒没有收到。

请检查通知权限、专注模式或勿扰模式、低电量模式，以及提醒时间是否已经过去。提醒由 iOS 在本地安排，系统可能延迟或拦截送达。

罗盘方向看起来不准。

请远离磁铁、扬声器、金属表面和磁吸手机支架，尽量让手机保持水平，并用 8 字动作重新校准。方位是近似值，且只在罗盘页面打开时读取。

小组件或手表摘要没有更新。

打开 App 让它重新计算并刷新共享摘要。共享快照只是一小段摘要——裁决、窗口开始时间、地点名称和时区，不含坐标——并且有有效期。

怎样删除我的数据？

在“地点”中删除单个地点，或在设置中使用“重置所有数据”，一次性清空地点、设置、缓存与已排期的通知。由于不会上传任何内容，因此不存在需要删除的开发者侧副本。
